Anass Salah-Eddine is heading to Greece, with Panathinaikos reaching an agreement with AS Roma for the Moroccan international left-back.
Morocco international Anass Salah-Eddine is set for a new chapter in Greece after Panathinaikos reached an agreement with AS Roma for his transfer.
The 24-year-old left-back will join the Athens club on an initial loan deal, with Panathinaikos securing an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season. Sky Sport Italia reports that the purchase option is not mandatory, meaning there are no conditions that automatically turn the loan into a permanent transfer.
€7 million option to buy
The agreement includes a €7 million purchase option plus a further €1 million in potential add-ons, according to reports surrounding the deal.
Salah-Eddine travelled to Athens to complete his medical examinations and the remaining formalities before the move is officially announced.
The transfer represents another new chapter for the Moroccan defender, who joined Roma permanently from FC Twente in February 2025 before spending the 2025/26 campaign on loan at PSV Eindhoven.
A fresh start in Athens
The move should provide Salah-Eddine with an opportunity to establish himself in Greece as he continues his development at club level.
He will also find familiar Moroccan faces in Athens, with fellow internationals Azzedine Ounahi and Imrân Louza already at Panathinaikos.
Barring any late complications with the final formalities, Salah-Eddine's next chapter will be in green and white.
